Vaio Control Center There Is A Newer Version Already Installed
Ok guys, I have solved the problems. Even though I clean installed Win 8.1 I needed to install the Vaio Control center V. 6.0 from Win 8 not the one from Win 8.1 as it is an update version and doesn't fully function without the prior version. This was working for a long time until recently the automated builds started failing 100% of the time. The verbose installation logs for the msi state that 'A newer version of this product is already installed.' I remoted into the dev server, checked the msi, and had no problem manually installing it myself on the server (via command-line.

I have just bought new Sony Vaio. It arrives on Friday.
I've been looking at the specs and they inform me that a whole bunch of software is installed by default when it arrives thus:

That's 23 bits of software I'm not sure I really need.
As I see it there are 2 media libraries/servers - Windows Media Centre and VAIO Media Plus, 4 trial versions of software I don't want, more double-ups of photo-editing and organising suites, control panel applets that windows already has, and so on.
The only items I can see of value are:
Windows® Media Center, maybe PMB, Evernote, maybe VAIO Gate, and maybe VAIO Recovery Centre.
Question - when this thing arrives, how easy is it to clear all of the crap off and start with a nice, fresh version of Windows???
Anyone else think this is a ridiculous amount of extra crap to be pre-loading? And I'm sure there'll be other bits and pieces on there that they haven't listed.

I first installed davinci without postgres or w/e the program is, and had to reinstall with
it. Since then im getting the error , A newer version is already installed. Uninstalled all blackmagic software in control panel,
Deleted folders permanently,
Sony Vaio Control Panel Download
even did a regedit delete of everything black magic
Reinstalled and still getting the same prompt.
